2017 Training Workshops

Citywide Training

Free workshops for early care and education program staff and families provide practical information and strategies on inclusion.

Topics include:

  • The foundations of inclusion
  • Screening and referral systems
  • Partnering with families
  • Adapting curriculum for children with disabilities

Inclusion Coaching

Inclusion coaches provide on-site training, technical assistance and coaching related to children with disabilities and special health care needs and their families.

Coaches work with staff on strengthening internal systems and developmentally appropriate inclusive practices that foster the inclusion of children with disabilities and their families.

Pilot Sites

Intensive training and coaching was provided to support three San Francisco early childhood programs as they included young children with special needs.

The three programs piloted various approaches to show how an intentional focus on inclusive practices results in program staff who feel competent and confident in including children with disabilities.
